However, living here does cost far more than the house, rates and council tax I am being indirectly taxed by the John Lewis empire. Where else could you have the luxury of popping out for a loaf to bread but to return with handcrafted coffee beans and grouse for tea? As far, as my husband is concerned I should be banned from going out for a loaf of bread, especially as Ive managed to spend £426.99 in the last two months on this very thing. I could argue that its the small pleasures in life which are the finest. However, I'm sure we would both be half a stone lighter without all this bread.

Ooh I could think of worse places to live... Sounds great! When I was a student (only a few years ago!) I lived near Waitrose too. Used to spend my monthly student allowance in a week. Sadly, we now live near Asda! Not quite the same...
I love Waitrose, but fortunately (or unfortunately!) I live in Highfield--so a bit of a stretch for a walk. I do, however, have my JL vice...and Ocado makes a personal delivery to my door twice a week. Almost as compulsive as living walking distance, but not quite.
Enjoy it...mmmm...bread.
That's a lot of grouse!
I love St Albans. Miss it actually. But then I'm a snob.
That's a lot of bread, it has to be said...
... tried the bread stall in the market on a Saturday down near The Boot?
Ah yes, the bread seller by the Boot is gorgeous. They do a fabulous big pita bread that often sells out before I get there...
Still thinking about bread...
