Testing, testing!

Zooarchaeologist is currently testing the Silver Cross Halo Buggy. Performing a series of off -road (the park), indoor (the library) and outdoor (a stroll to the shops) she will put the buggy under the most extreme conditions imaginable (this includes dragging todder boy along and steering one handed).

A detailed report will follow, but initial thoughts:

Baby Fifi is nicely and safely cosseted away within its seat. I like this, less opportunity to be poked and proded.

My mum loves it, it is her choice over the other 4 pushchairs we own. She thinks its sturdy and safe.

The lack of under-seat storage is proving a bit of an issue, although I do have a handy Babymel change bag which has special handlebar attachments, so that helps.

I thought the handle was a bit uncomfortable to push after 3 mile walk, I would like a bit of padding.

I love the cosy foot muff.

It folds quite small considering my car seat will attach to it.

It looks WELL nice.

So, there you go, initial thoughts, a bigger, better brighter review with exciting action images to follow.

So before you get to the bigger review, I have a few questions. Does it lie flat so you could use it from birth? How easy is it to fold, put the car seat on, etc. The MIL and I bought a silver cross travel system for the SIL when she had her baby and it took three of us over two hours and the instruction manual to work out how to use the thing - we still can't get it right!

It looks cool (and I'm a sucker for anything with style). Wonder if it could cope with the country though? Here we lurch over cobbles, roads have HUGE potholes and lanes disappear into fields.....
We bought a landrover buggy when James was a baby - cost an arm and a leg and was a bloody nightmare - hell to fold up, too big for the boot....tyres kept going flat. Ended up with a twenty quid one from mothercare!

Hiya...I'm also reviewing the Halo (did the Doodle already) and found the handle uncomfortable as well. Good observations...I will be trying to get my review up by tomorrow. Nice to see another review- cheers!

Hiya...
I am also reviewing the Halo (did the Doodle already) and was glad to see you had a few "cons" as well. I'm aiming to have my review up tomorrow. I'll look forward to seeing your bigger review as well! :)

Will answer all your questions soon enough! Suffice to say;
Vic; it is suitable from birth.
Jane; Dont think it would be good for Exmoor it was hard going through a gravelly car-park earlier.
Dotterel; im a sucker for pushchair, they all have different functionality depending on where im going
Karin; look forward to your review
KAterine; Thanks!

The worst part about having so many pushchairs is storing them. The porch is now a certifiable death trap, where grabbing a pair of shoes might result in a pushchair landslide that could kill you.

Having reviewed it myself (see my blog soon!) I don't think country terrain is suitable, really. The tyres aren't pneumatic so there's no worries about flats but there's not a lot of give. Just my humble opinion. City use mainly. :)

Would be nice to see the halo compared to the other pushchairs you have. Just a thought...
