Giveaway and Review: Organic Children Range from Green People

We love the Green People range of skincare products in this house, I use their lipstick (which is really nice), moisturizers and shampoo personally, and the children use their some of their bath products. However, I just found out that they have over 120 products to chose from, a lot more than I knew about! They have won loads of awards, donate 10% of profits to charity, as well as being environmentally sound.

I came across Green People when I started getting worried about Fifi's skin developing eczema. Their products don't contain lots of nasty chemicals, in particular SLS which is a foaming agent. It's worth thinking about what you are putting on your children's skin as it could have all manner of effects, both short and long term. Since I have been a bit more careful, there has been a dramatic improvement in both children's skin complaints. Amazing, but common sense really.

For this review we got sent a tube of Citrus & Aloe Vera Bath & Shower wash from the Organic Children range. I have to say it has lived up to expectations, smelling lovely and fresh and feeling 'safe'. It's still foamy in the bath and you can still have lots of fun, but without all the worries. At £7.50 a tube it is a bit more expensive than your standard supermarket brand, but I can vouch that a little bit does go a long way. I'll be buying some more when we run out.

Good news readers! For this review, not only did Toddler boy and Fifi get to sample the product, your child can too. The lovely people at Green people are offering 5 products from their range for the winner of my giveaway. So what do you have to do? Well, the rules of entry are simple:

our best green product has to be our ecopotty which biodegrades once you bury it in the garden.

He's not actually ready for it yet but we got it ages ago ready. I'd love to win some goodies for George to use! xx

Ooh, first. Although by the time I've typed this I may not be! Anyway, my best green purchase would have to be a lovely v-neck green cheesecloth top. Oh, that's not what you meant? Okay, Ecover then! Am following x

My best green purchase is our composting box - has a filter on the top so no nasty whiffs and sits on the side so people (yes Mr Muddling that would be you) don't put scraps in the bin

I'm following & you're on my blog roll too ...

I love the Halos & Horns products which are "nasty free," because, like you, I worry about excema!

As for household green products, I vote for Method! Their grapefruit spray smells divine & I don't worry about having it around with kids!

Our best Green purchase has to be our allotment! We only sow vegetables we actually like and harvest them as and when we need, meaning less waste. The kids - mine and the childminded ones - also love to, so win win all round!

My best green purchase has to be bicarbonate of soda and vinegar. It's really streamlined my cleaning and is so much better for the environment!

Well that's easy....my Smart Car! They require little amount of gas and emit lesser pollutants into our environment. Plus, they are produced in Smartville which is dedicated to producing these cars with the environment in mind. http://www.smartusa.com/smart-fortwo-ecology.aspx

Cheers,

You know, I honestly can't think of anything. But I did pick up shed loads of canvas bags at the last two baby shows and I do actually use them!

Hmm... not sure what our greenest purchase is. Either our new Bambinex nappies, or our beco (its a biodegradable potty) or the eco balls washing powder substitute. And I recently put an wind blocker on the post slot in the door.

Hope those count!

My best green purchase has to be my moon cup. This means I no longer have to use sanitary towels, and hence I am not adding these to landfill. The cup is easy to use and hygenic. I totally recommend it!

My new favourite green buy are Method bathroom wipes. I am totally smitten (so sad I know!)

I am already a follower, and you are on my blog roll.

MoonCup! I'll second that. All those nasty sanitary towels and tampons floating in the sea are unnecessary would no longer be if every woman used a MoonCup. Plus, you can pour the contents onto your shrubs - they love it!
