Search for the Nations Best Cook with Tesco Real Food Challenge

Over the Summer I'm involved with Tesco Real Food to find the nations best Real Food cook.  Its a brilliant opportunity to spread the word about the brilliant recipes you cook up at home and the personal stories behind them. I'm on the panel, to help select the best Take- away at home recipe. This is one of several categories all based around moods. I cant wait, not only do I love this type of food, I'm really excited to hear peoples suggestions and always looking for something new.

The recipes will feature on the Tesco Real Food website for everyone to share. The truly great recipes will be short-listed to appear in a new national TV cook off on Channel Five. The eight new food moods (categories) reflect a fascinating changing pattern of cooking and eating today. More information and inspiration is available at www.tesco.com

So, you want to know a bit more about the category I'm involved with? Here is what the Tesco team say and the basis of the judging!:
Take Away: Friday night is treat night, and nothing says 'end of the working week' better than a favourite takeaway, our research reveals. But home cooks are attempting to recreate the exotic dishes they have come to love instead of reaching for the phone. We are looking for something a bit spicy that captures that Friday feeling anytime.

If you go to the Real Food Website you'll find all the details on how you can get involved, I am sure many of you have some excellent recipes which will wow the judges. I shall keep you updated on how we are getting on with the recipe testing. The kids are really looking forward to trying some exotic foods (hopefully) and I cant wait to get everyone cooking. There will be some exciting things to come on the blog, including an interview with Matt Dawson. I really enjoy writing about food and I hope you will all come on the journey with me.
