Dear Zoo is THIRTY!

7th September 2012 No Comments

I am thirty seven, so I do remember this book from my childhood. If you have read the book you are bound to remember it and love it. My kids love it, its one of the first ones I read them and I still read it to them now. I was lucky enough to be sent a signed copy of the book. I can’t tell you how thrilled I was about this, it takes pride of place in my bookshelf.

In the part 30 years over 5 million copies of Dear Zoo have been sold worldwide, as part of the celebration there are 2 new books, Animal Shapes and Touch and Feel. Little Ned loves both of them, although he has to fight Fifi for the Animal Shapes book. I’ll be honest, we all love Animal Shapes so much we took it on holiday and read it every morning to little Ned. Even better for technology fans, the Dear Zoo iPad app is available from the iTunes store, we haven’t tried  that yet but its next on my list!

If you are looking for the cutest birthday/ Christmas presses for little ones then you won’t go far wrong in checking out the Dear Zoo Shop- think gorgeous little aprons and cups. Sigh. You can also find some wonderful activity sheets and loads more information here on the Macmillan book page

Its probably wrong to be excited about all the new stuff associated with a book from your childhood, so I’m living vicariously. I know Ned really wants the iPad app *ahem*
