Book Review: No-Bot, the Robot with No Bottom by Sue Hendra

11th December 2012 No Comments

In a word; Hilarious. Without a shadow of doubt this is the funniest book I’ve ever read with the boy. Maybe that’s me, we loved it. It’s such a simple idea but so appealing to children’s (and my) sense of humour. I was still chuckling about it an hour after we read it, much to the husband’s mirth who decided to tweet about my cheerfulness. That’s the power of a good story and a good book.

Basically Bernard the robot manages to lose his bottom when he is out in the park and alongside his friends has to search for it (he cant sit down otherwise). It’s a genius story which is brilliantly illustrated with bright and vibrant colours and child friendly characters. No-Bot really has a lovely feel about it and I really like books which make me laugh when I am reading them to the kids. Bedtime is far more enjoyable with a bit of humour. This book gets a five star rating from me. I do hope No-Bot gets into more scrapes soon…
