Book Review: I Got a Crocodile by Nicola Killen

26th February 2013 No Comments

You can’t ask much more from a book than a picture of a crocodile on a scooter. Well, it had our house in raptures as we are very keen scooter fans. This is the story of a little child who really wants a brother or sister but instead gets a crocodile as a friend. Its a lovely story about friendship and using your imagination. We read the book at bedtime and laughed along at the scenarios which are perfectly livened up by the illustrations.

In many ways the crocodile is a lot like little Ned, he causes terrible trouble at teatime and big bother at bath time (perhaps I’ll invest in some goggles like the little child in the picture!) This is one of those picture books which is printed on really nice paper, a sort of matt effect which is perfect for the artwork. A lovely read, its ideally pitched at 3- 5 year olds for their bedtime story as it has little to bother them but much to enjoy.

You’ll find all the details on the Simon and Schuster website
