Book Review: Little Learners from Parragon Books

A couple of months ago we were really kindly sent some books for little Ned to have a look at. The Little Learners range of books from Parragon are slightly different to your usual board books in that they incorporate a finger puppet and use familiar nursery rhymes. I must say he was really thrilled from the moment he first saw them.

Aged 1 going on 25 Ned particularly enjoys nursery rhymes, in fact far more so than his older brother and sister did. I put this down to a couple of things; going regularly to baby rhyme time in the local library since birth and also us reading and singing them a lot with him. We try to do hand gestures with him, however, these books have enabled us to bring them to life.

One of the great things about Little Learners books are that they are really good quality board and seem to last being manhandled by little toddlers. Ned loves using the finger puppet himself and this week has chosen one of the books to go to bed with him- he likes to play in the morning just after he wakes up. Its lovely to see him using the finger puppet and burbling the rhyme out (the odd word is audible).

In particular Ned likes Incy Wincy Spider, but there are loads of books available in the range you can check them all out here

If you are looking for a gift for a new baby or a toddler these are an excellent choice, I have written before about the importance of reading and board books for young children and these books come highly recommended from us.  I think I will actually keep one in Neds memory box to remind me of all the happy moments i’ve had reading them with him.

The full range is available at all major retailers including TescoWH Smith, Sainsbury’s, Amazon and Early Learning Centre with books ranging from £2.99 to £6.99. The range is also available internationally throughout Europe, the United States, Australia (as Little Me), & Latin America (in Spanish).
