Schools back very soon and with that I suspect will be the invasion of little head lice into our home. Again. Last term Fifi managed to get head lice about five times. I was at my wits end, especially as we often share our hairbrush (bad practice I know) and I had to treat myself on several occasions as well. Since Fifi doesn’t actually like her hair being washed all that much each visitation struck fear into my heart.
One of the other problems I had with the whole head lice thing was that Fifi has eczema and I didn’t want to aggravate that by putting too many chemicals on her head. Its a difficult situation and I soon lost any self consciousness I had at openly looking at the treatments in the shops.
Lyclear have come up with a brilliant solution: Lyclear Sensitive. This has been proven to kill 100% of head lice and eggs in just one application. This is a brilliant solution because all you need to do is to apply it to the head and leave it on overnight. In the morning you wash it out using normal shampoo and comb with the anti lice comb to remove the lice and eggs. Its suitable for children from 6 months and you get a bottle with enough solution for 2 applications. Ideal for mother and child. We have used this and found it to be good. My only concern was that we needed to leave it on overnight, I don’t like leaving anything on my kids overnight if I can help it. However, needs must and this is a good one for children who don’t like too much ‘fiddling’ in one day. I’d use this on the boys in our household for sure.
The best solution for us has been Lyclear Spray, this treatment kills 100% of head lice and eggs in 15 minutes flat. Literally, all you need to do is to spray it onto dry hair and leave for 15 minutes. So if you are clever you can catch them before bath time, spray and then carry on with the usual bath time routine (including a hair wash). I’ve found that its not all that easy to wash out with one shampoo and you do need to do it a couple of times, especially on my hair. However, that’s far preferable to wandering about for hours with the stuff dripping off your head!
You can get Lyclear from pharmacies and supermarkets. I’d genuinely recommend it because last term we did clear Fifi and myself using Lyclear before she got reinfected! I tried a range of different treatments and the most simple and convenient was Lyclear Spray. There is nothing worse than going to the shop in a panic after discovering head lice. Stock up on Lyclear, before school starts, that’ll make things a lot easier!
