Book Review: I love Mum and The Perfect Hug by Joanna Walsh and Judi Abbot

21st January 2014 No Comments

I love Mum is an adorable picture book aimed at  the preschooler to early years age group. My little girl who is 5 loved it, she tells me to say that she absolutely loved it. The boys weren’t so taken.

The best thing about the book are the adorable illustrations which are gorgeous, I don’t think I’ve ever seen such adorable little tigers. The story is lovely and its a perfect read for when you want to have a little cuddle with your own bundle of joy. I think it would make a wonderful Mothers Day gift for any new mums (alongside a large bunch of chocolates).

This is one of those books which I think appeals more to girls than boys because my husband wasn’t too keen and neither were the boys, but myself and my daughter loved it.

We also received copy of the new edition padded board book version of The Perfect Hug. This is another beautifully illustrated story all about hugs. I must admit I prefer this book as its full of little gems and gives you a perfect excuse to have a hug. You are also left pondering just how Do they hug the Milky Way? Genius. I’m actually going to buy this one for a new mum I know as I think its one you’ll read with your baby time and time again.
