I’ve paid my dues, seven hard years with very few uninterrupted nights sleep. That’s it, I need some sleep. I’m fed up of saying to people when they ask how I am, that I am tired. I don’t want to be grey haired, so tired I cant think straight, so tired I cant see straight. I want some sleep.
So, it was with this frame of mind that I entered into the Philips, BritMums G+ hangout with baby sleep expert Chireal Shallow. The hangout turned out to be one of the best things I’ve done in parenting on line (so to speak) because Chireal actually spoke a lot of sense and I took on board her comments as an expert. Sometimes I think you need the reassurance of a known expert to go along and do what you thought you might do all along and after speaking to her I felt empowered. Have a look at what she said:
So, after this chat I decided to be decisive and ditch Ned’s bottles. After a couple of fretful nights Ned’s sleep did actually begin to improve and I’m thrilled to say that he has slept 7:30 till 6 AM the past two nights. I think we may have turned a corner.
Philips have some great soft lighting which I have written about here. I think I’m going to buy Ned one for the next stage in our children’s sleep pattern; convincing him to stay in his bed…
