Waiting for it to get Hotter!

I’m fortunate to live in St Albans, we have lovely parks and great shops. Recently shopping in St Albans got a little bit better with the opening of a new Hotter Shoe shop. If I’m honest, the older I get the more appealing Top Shop and H & M seem with their trendy shoes and clothes, I suspect this is the on-set of midlife crisis. However, I just can’t help but shop at Hotter because the shoes are SO comfortable and absolutely perfect for the amount of walking about I do!

Recently, Hotter Shoes have significantly upped their game and they have some fantastic styles which have been featured in some really high end fashion magazines. If I think back to the number of positive comments I’ve had over the the years about my navy blue Shake shoes (a Hotter classic). The number of my friends who have them and the way they have lasted and lasted, I don’t think I need to say anymore. Not only are they comfortable, they are long lasting, classic and they are a British company.
I was lucky enough to be invited to a special event at the new St Albans store, which is one of their growing 60 stores and well worth a visit if you want to see the collection in real life. Be warned though, you’ll end up spending far more than you intended. I got the chance to try on loads of different shoes and was frankly left with desire for more shoes than we could probably house at home. They also have a fantastic selection of handbags, one of which is being added to my birthday list as we speak.
This season Hotter have considered some of the key trends with their style ambassador Alex Longmore. They have loads of styles to help you complete some key looks such as floral, pastels, nude shoes (think The Duchess of Cambridge) and my favourite, Tea Dresses. You can have a look at their look book here.
What did I fancy? Well, here is my initial selection in store:

I really fancied the preppy blue Sorbet shoes, the turquoise and blue sporty oasis ones could have been from sketchers and I fell in love with the beautiful light blue suede Donna heels (2nd down in the picture which frankly doesn’t do them justice. Since Hotter offered to give me one pair of shoes I felt a bit like Verruca Salt, should I just get the husband to buy me the rest? Well, since we are both financially challenged this wasn’t really an option.

The one thing which I really need is a great pair of comfortable sandals, each year it is a real challenge to find a pair within my budget which will last, be comfortable enough to knock around in all summer, yet look stylish with everything from jeans to dresses. I wont have this trouble in future, Hotter have all the answers. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many suitable sandals, so despite it being only Spring I thought I’d throw caution to the wind and get these little beauties:

If you want to copy me you’ll find them on the website here. Be warned, you can buy 2 pairs for £90 at the moment though. I’m just waiting for the weather to get hotter so I can wear them!
I had a lovely evening of shoes, wine and chats with friends, so thank you Hotter Shoes.
