Book Review: The Mouse Who Ate the Moon by Petr Horacek

1st June 2014 No Comments

We are big fans of Petr Horacek in this house, we have loads of his board books which have been well loved over the years and I was thrilled when he agreed to write a piece on this very blog!
The Mouse Who Ate the Moon is perfect for you to read with toddlers and their elder siblings. Its a gentle tale about a little mouse who thinks he has eaten a piece of the moon, beside herself with worry about eating the moon she seeks advice from all her friends.

As you’d expect this book is delightfully illustrated and has some lovely cutout pages which work beautifully, making it a book that you’d really want to treasure. We loved the story and the idea actually sparked off quite a lot of thinking and ideas between my three children. Including a brilliant fun couple of hours searching for things around the house which might get mistaken for the moon.

If you want to treat the children this is a lovely book to go for, equally I’d be delighted to receive it as a gift for one of my children. Have a look here for more information.
