Book Review: Alfie in the Garden by debi Gliori

5th October 2014 No Comments

This delightful book is absolutely perfect for your little toddlers. Its all about Alfie who is helping his mum in the garden and who has a big, big imagination. I think it will strike a chord with the littlest members of your family. I know it did with Ned, who likes nothing more than pretending he is a lion on the the prowl. Gardening will never be the same now as Alfie in the Garden has given him some more inspiration!

Debi Gliori always comes up with the most amazingly imaginative stories and this is no exception. We are really looking forward to Alfie’s further adventures. For me, the thing which really stood out amongst all the books I get sent to review about this one was the colour scheme used in the illustrations, it really is very gentle. The illustrations look soft, which not only makes the characters look exceptionally cute, but also makes it appealing to very little children. My two year old was engrossed with it. Its exciting to think this is just the start of a new series of books and that Alfie may well become one of our classic children’s book characters. Just lovely.
