Book Review: The Tiger Prowls: A Pop-up Book of Wild Animals by Seb Braun

The Tiger ProwlsThe Tiger Prowls is a beautifully produced pop up book featuring a range of familiar wild animals. Each animal is described in a short  lyrical text which makes it perfect for reading with small children.

When this book arrived it took my breath away, its a beautiful pop up book with the pop up animals created by respected paper engineer Maggie Bateson. I loved the illustrations, they are stylish and simple.

The children spent a great deal of time with me talking about each of the animals and enjoying the pop-ups. I think the value of this book is that it can act as a spring board for discussions about wildlife and animals. Seb Braun has managed to pick the worlds most iconic animals which is extremely useful as knowledge of  these animals provide children with a good grounding for further reading, imaginative play and stories and so forth.

This would make a lovely gift for a child and we would have been delighted to receive it.
